WHY IS PUB POKER DIFFERENT FROM THE REST?
Pub Poker differentiates itself from the rest by providing a fully dealt poker game by professional, experienced dealers – unlike other free poker events. Players never need to worry about dealing! Our friendly and professional Pub Poker dealers are there to run the game and also assist inexperienced players. Plus, Pub Poker offers a unique tournament format that ensures lots of games and chances for everyone – giving participants an entire evening of fun and competition – not just until they receive that first “bad beat”.
Pub Poker also sets itself apart from the rest by providing direct paths into our quarterly Pub Poker Grand Finals (see HOW DO I MAKE THE PUB POKER GRAND FINAL? below). Pub Poker players don’t need to go through multiple and complex qualification processes to compete for the Big Prizes – at least 3 players from every Pub Poker venue qualify for the Pub Poker Full Tilt Grand Final.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Pub Poker is FREE to play! Simply visit your venue of choice and register as a Pub Poker member to play. (Selected Pub Poker venues do offer an optional Cash Buy In, but participation can still be FREE).
WHAT DO I WIN?
Pub Poker offers lots of prizes! At the weekly venue events, players compete for Venue prizes, a Pub Poker trophy, and venue leaderboard points. Every quarter, Pub Poker holds its Pub Poker Grand Final. Great prizes are on offer, topped by the fantastic Trip for two to the spiritual home of Poker Las Vegas. This package includes 7 nights Accomodation and Airfares.
Pub Poker Grand Final prizes:

2nd – Home Entertainment System
3rd – A Year’s Supply of Beer
4th – Trip for 2 to the Gold Coast
5th – Custom Made Imperial Poker Table
HOW DO I MAKE THE PUB POKER GRAND FINAL?
There are 3 ways to qualify for the Pub Poker Grand Final:
VENUE POINTS LEADERS
Each Venue has a 10 week season. Every week, players compete for points to contribute to their overall standing on the Venue Leaderboard. After 10 weeks, the Top 2 points leaders win seats into the Pub Poker Full Tilt Grand Final.
VENUE FINAL WINNER
At week 11, Venues hold a Venue Final. Admission into to this Final is gained either by winning one of the Venue’s Pub Poker weekly events, or by earning enough points throughout the venue season to qualify for the Points Qualifier. The winner of the Venue Final wins a seat in the Pub Poker Grand Final.
HOW DO I EARN PUB POKER VENUE POINTS?
Pub Poker Venue Points can be earned in 3 ways:
ATTENDANCE
Every player that attends a Pub Poker event earns 1 point.
POKER PERFORMANCE
Players earn points based on their poker performance. All players that qualify for the Final Table earn 2 points. The Top 8 players on the Final Table earn additional points, based on the following scale:
1st = 15 pts
2nd = 10 pts
3rd = 9 pts
4th = 8 pts
5th = 7 pts
6th = 6 pts
7th = 5 pts
8th = 4 pts
IN VENUE EXPENDITURE
Players can also earn points based on their In Venue expenditure. 1 point per drink (up to 8 drinks) and 2 points for a meal. An additional 10 points per event can be earned to contribute to the player’s overall standing on the Venue Leaderboard.
HOW DOES THE POINTS QUALIFIER/VENUE FINAL SYSTEM WORK?
Every Pub Poker Venue has their own 10 week season, with an ongoing venue specific leaderboard. Players earn points via attendance, poker performance and expenditure. Every weekly winner throughout the venue’s 10 week season wins a seat into the Venue Final. The Venue Final occurs every 11 weeks. Additional seats are awarded for the Venue Final via a Points Qualifier game. This game occurs on Venue Final night, before the main game. Players ranked 3rd – 10th on the Venue Leaderboard (once all Venue Final Seat winners are disregarded) compete in this game to win seats into the Venue Final. The winner of the Venue Final earns entry into the Pub Poker Full Tilt Grand Final.
Venue Leaderboards are updated weekly and available for viewing at www.pubpoker.net.au/venue or your Pub Poker venue.
I WANT TO PLAY, BUT DON’T KNOW HOW TO DEAL? I CAN’T PLAY POKER – CAN I STILL JOIN IN?
No need to worry! Every Pub Poker Event is fully dealt by professional, experienced dealers – unlike other free poker events. Players never need to worry about dealing! Our friendly and professional Pub Poker dealers are there to run the game and also assist inexperienced players. There are always “How to Play/Hand Ranking” materials available, and our great staff love educating and introducing new players to the great game of Poker.
I CAN’T MAKE IT EVERY WEEK, BUT WOULD STILL LIKE TO JOIN IN ON OCCASION. IS IT STILL WORTH PLAYING WHEN I CAN?
Of course! Each Pub Poker event is run as an individual event, providing fun competition, with a nightly winner crowned and great prizes on offer. The weekly winner at each venue is entered into the Venue Final. Plus, players earn points on the weeks that they play, and even if you can’t make it every week, you could still be eligible to compete in the Venue Final.
